Original artwork description:

This painting in oil on a square canvas was painted 'en plein air' on my city roof terrace this summer, I'm making the most of being outside, painting some of my plants. These tiger-lilies didn't last very long but I wanted to capture an impression of them. There's a photo of this painting 'in situ' in the set of photos of this artwork.
I tend to use oils in a translucent way, thinning them and using many layers, and making the most of the drips which run down the canvas to form stems and leaves. This canvas is also painted in green shades at the sides and comes ready to hang.
