The vividly orange Crocosmia or Montbretia caught the morning sun.
They were like fiery butterflies and I just had to create a painting to try to convey the delight they gave me.

This is one of a series of bright watercolour paintings made in early August 2021.
I am inspired by the flowers and the trees in my garden.

This image is painted on Indian cotton handmade paper.
