Summer bees - 11 in all - gather on some brightly-lit albums in the dazzling sunlight of a summer's day. Alliums are a favourite subject of mine; these perfect spheres comprised of so many tiny stars are a beguiling focal-point and and provide a wonderful contrast to the other, more haphazard, shapes and activities of a summer garden. Bees, too, are a favourite subject - one that I approach both literally and symbolically.

This is a deep-sided, heavyweight canvas that is ready to hang, with green-painted sides to complement the background of the subject (a continuation of the front).
