This abstract reminds me of coastal defences such as groynes and revetments. I have spent many days doing ecological surveys of coastal habitats and man-made defences and the battle between the force of nature and ingenuity of humans has always fascinated me. Maybe something had to come out eventually in an abstract. It also works as a pure geometric abstract.

The edges and background are turquoise, one of my favourite colours. The rectangles are filled with blues and greys. It is painted with acrylic paints. It is ready to hang.
