Original artwork description:

We are so lucky to have seen many beautiful Roman villas and mosaic floors. This abstract pays homage to the skills of artisans from two thousand years ago who created wonderful images with tiles. It may also have been influenced by the growth patterns of some bryozoans that I have observed in my life as a marine biologist.

Perhaps surprisingly this painting looks great on the walls of our Victorian home, but it would be equally at home on the wall of a modern apartment or house.

This painting has a hidden internal wooden frame and is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint brushed over canvas then more paint added and a roller used to spread it. Finally areas of paint were removed to reveal the painting below.
