Original artwork description:

This monoprint study explores the pose and line work drawing of a figure created in 2001. During this time I was experimenting and playing with monoprints, originally drawing the images on paper as a sketch then redrawing on to printing paper via blue printing ink on a metal plate.
This allowed the image to be transferred, simplifying into a more illustrative rendering, observing the flattening of space, investigating the way old Japanese woodcut prints flattened space. The drawing has been produced on handmade textured paper.

Materials used:

Blue printing ink on Japanese handmade paper
