Study Series
Watercolour on paper
I have always drawn and made studies, and the observation and study of landscape is what motivates me. Here is a series of very old studies made in the field, each one recording a particular moment in time as the clouds passed over the sky, the trees described longer shadows, the sun illuminated new aspects of the land. The drawings are old, with original inscriptions and notes, and some have marks and stains on them, but I have chosen to keep these as they are, and to simply mount each one with artists' movable adhesive onto a new sheet of A4 size cartridge paper, to preserve the integrity of the drawings. Juxtaposed with the old drawings are new studies, - not surprisingly the subjects are the same, the story is the same, and the passion has increased.
