Painting in the sand dunes,

Soft muted violet clouds,
Purbeck ridge,
Gorse, bracken and sea grasses.

Words and expression of creating an art demonstration outside in the dunes of Studland nature reserve in Autumn.
Original impressionist watercolour on Indian cotton rag paper. Using two Chinese brushes and my Japanese watercolours.
Painting outside is so exhilarating and challenging. A wonderful place to experience the light over the dune beds and seeing all the colours for real.
I wet the paper first and applied delicate washes for the sky plus background colours. I then dabbed, pressed and etched the paint out for the sea grasses.
