Original artwork description:

This painting was created for the X Make a Mark exhibition at the Rathbone Studio and Gallery. I have used mixed media on a box canvas with white painted sides.

"My painting ‘Strong Women’ is a tribute to the women who fought with great courage and determination over a period of many years to gain the right for women, over the age of twenty one in the UK to vote thus giving them the same rights as men.

‘Strong Women’ also pays tribute to the many women throughout the world who even in present times still have to suffer sometimes great hardships of inequality.
It is my hope that they too will someday have the same rights as women in the UK.

My painting is also inspired by my own experiences in life and the strong women in my own family."
