Original artwork description:

Above Spanish Bay Beach, meandering through the dunes, is a wooden boardwalk which makes it easy to walk along the coast enjoying the sounds and views of the ocean. I enjoy setting-up my plein air easel there to catch the impressions of the moment on canvas.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on canvas panel 4"x4". Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.
This painting is framed in a 2.25"-wide floater frame with a classic plein air styling with soft gold leafing with warm, dark scratch and highlighting, and rich, dark sides. Artwork framed size is 8.5"x8.5". Frame side height is 1.25".
A floater frame gives an artwork the illusion of floating inside the picture frame without touching it, which creates an interesting visual detail and a sense of three-dimensional depth in the overall display. It allows you to see the painting to the edges of the canvas, which is valuable for a small 4"x4" painting.
