Original artwork description:

When I painted Roussillon, I really just wanted to capture that feeling you get wandering through it — like you’re wrapped up in color at every turn. The little alleys twist and turn, and around every corner, the walls shift from soft golds to deep reds and purples. The sunlight hits everything in such a beautiful way, almost like the village is glowing from within.
What I love about Roussillon is how the buildings feel so much a part of the land — you can almost see how the ochre cliffs shaped them, gave them their colors, their spirit. I tried to weave that connection into the painting, mixing the natural beauty with the everyday life you can still feel there. I hope when you look at it, it feels like you’re right there too — wandering slowly, soaking it all in.

Materials and info: Oil on linen mounted on 10"x8" Sintra panel, varnished with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed, it will require a frame to hang on the wall. It easily slots into a standard 8"x10" picture frame.

Materials used:

oil paint, linen canvas, Sintra panel, Gamvar varnish
