This lovely and highly detailed work depicts a Chicago suburban street in the lazy heat of a Sunday afternoon. It has been painstakingly painted and shimmers with heat and shadows and light. A railway crosses the side of the view, and to the left a tree adds shade. If we try, we can imagine the scents of warm pizza, coffee, magnolia and tar, the perfume of the city. The work is a perfect souvenir of Chicago, a wonderful gift. It is 0.4 inches deep so it can hang without the need for framing if wished.
