Original artwork description:

This was my view on a sunny summer afternoon on the beach in Groede,
Zeeland (Netherlands) where I often go painting. I was attracted to the beach
café "Groede aan Zee" as a subject because of its cheerful atmosphere
with yellow umbrellas, bright coloured playing area for kids and
lampions strung around the terrace. Painting in situ, I observed some of
the figures around me and let them inspire me as additions to the
painting to bring the scene to life.

"Strandpaviljoen Groede an Zee" was painted en plein air in Groede,
Zeeuws Vlaanderen, on Hahnemühle 600g mould-made 100% cotton rag
watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes with a warm
white mount to fit a standard-size frame of 50x60cm and is accompanied
by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
