Original artwork description:

It was the festival celebrating Ganesh returning to the water, hundreds of people stood at the side of the lake celebrating and bringing statues of the god to the water. We could smell the storm coming and the air was really heavy with heat and humidity. It was around 2pm and still very light. A small boat took us out onto the lake to see some of the floating palaces and 'pleasure isles', we could see the storm coming from a few miles out but it came on us very quickly. The sky turned black and almost all daylight was blotted out by the clouds. The rain came down just as we were disembarking the boat and it rained monsoon rains for hours, flooding many of the lower lying villages and turning roads into temporary rivers. I had never witnessed anything like it before and was completely mesmerised at the sudden transformation of the sky and landscape. I was so captivated by the beauty of the foreboding sky - simply stunning.
