Original artwork description:

The scene was created using a reference picture of a boat I had photographed and images I had seen in the Bahamas. The inspiration for this work came from the paintings Winslow Homer had done in the Bahama islands. I painted it while we were under a hurricane watch in Florida and it is sad to think of the destruction that the people of the Bahamas have been through but it is too beautiful a place to not rebuild.

Materials used:

Watercolor paper, Sennelier and Holbein watercolors
