Dramatic and atmospheric etching.

A distant dark and volumous cloud hangs over a moody sea. Glimpsed light from the sky above reflects on the water below.

A complex aquatint etching, involving many delicate stages to make, on a zinc plate. Black and graphite professional etching ink has been blended to create a 'soft black' finish.

This is a hand made etching and aquatint with each print being inked up and wiped individually. The zinc plate is selectively protected using wax and other substances to 'protect' areas, then dipped in acid over various stages to create holes that 'grip' the ink. The ink is then carefully rubbed over the plate and wiped off selectively, then placed on the 'bed' of an etching press, which is wound to press the soft etching paper onto the inked plate, creating the printed image. Each inking is stlightly different and each print is therefore unique.

A limited edition print of just 25.

The edition is numbered, titled and signed on the front.
Certificate of authenticity included.

This etching will be sent to you carefully wrapped in tissue paper, in a sturdy cardboard tube.
