Original artwork description:

I painted five portraits of Sarah Stockbridge in the late 1990's for an exhibition in Brighton. Sarah Stockbridge was the main model and muse for the fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, she then became an actor and appeared in the TV soap "Eastenders". Recently I have switched over to painting on canvas and wanted to paint a richly coloured figurative picture; I chose red as the dominant colour and decided that a simple black dress would look great against a red background and as I had some good reference shots from the original photo session I thought that it would be nice to do another painting of her.
