Large (about A3) colour linocut of the banger cars at Mendips Raceway - a stock car racing circuit high in the Mendip hills in Somerset.
This is a large linocut made using four carved blocks of lino, one for each colour. This is a limited edition of 50 linocuts.
The ink is transferred to the paper by rubbing the back with a baren and a wooden spoon. (Takes a while!). As always with linocuts, each print will vary slightly since they are produced by hand. Each print is numbered, titled and signed on the front by me, the artist.
The actual print is 39.5 cm wide and 28.5 cm high, excluding the signature (roughly A3 - so pretty big).
The linocut is printed in oil-based inks on acid free paper and comes with a mount, backing board and cellophane wrap so it is ready for a 50cm by 40cm frame.
Please note international orders will be posted without a mount and rolled in a tube with acid-free tissue.
I've known this racing circuit in the Mendips since childhood, and it hasn't changed at all. A great place for a laid back afternoon's entertainment watching the stock cars and bangers crashing into each other.
