This small painting was made in mix media technique using a liner and watercolors. I love working with the line and contour, but rarely combine graphic with color painting. This stylized still life has become, in this sense, an exception to the rule. I wanted to play with composition and fragment the image space. I borrowed this method from the applique and it may look quite decorative, but that's inspirable for me as well. I especially like the combination of yellow flowers and a Moroccan dark blue pattern on the casket. Also, there is a yellow sponge in the middle of the composition hidden in flowers. All these objects were in the bathroom and looked like ready art objects. My artistic aim was to preserve the visual impression but not to transfer objects to paper in a photographic sense.
