Recently, the expression of turbulence and chaos has become the main theme of my paintings. In the dramatically changing world still life can not be a field of "still" objects anymore. Movement, vibration and flowing are now the dominant dimensions for the "motionless" objects as flowers, fruits, drapes and other typical components of genre. In this painting I was inspired by a huge bud of king protea, looks like a kind of extraordinary, exotic alien. The flower is accompanied with a very particular fringed tulip and complemented by the sliding gold drapery, made using Schminke gold effect paint.
