Hi,
Over Christmas, I went back to a realistic painting I started a few years ago and have being working on ever since.
A great way to improve your technique as an oil painter is to depict 'nature mort' as the Dutch masters and other did. Today, it as it's own branch of art.

Here, I love the different textures of the picture and the subtle gradations in tone and colour.
