Original artwork description:

This painting is a part of the "Erasing Places" Collection. "Erasing Places" is a body of work that has documented the time following her years in Arizona. After moving back to the East Coast, she witnessed her hometown, Ellicott City, MD, devastated by flood. She dissects the town and it’s buildings, placing them in imaginative waters that engulf them or carry them off. The paintings document the structures themselves, but also the memories they represent. Some works of the series are inspired by the subsequent 2018 wildfires in California. They also acknowledge the mutual threat of “erasure” for these two very important places in her heart - Tucson, AZ and Ellicott City, MD.
