Original artwork description:

This is a completely unique and original PMS Mixed Media and Assembled Wall Sculptural painting on reclaimed wood. This is the latest addition in my newest series of assemblage works and is my best selling series to date. This painting and series epitomizes a technique and aesthetic I have been working to perfect over the years and takes them to a new level, both literally and figuratively. Themes in my work of construction, deconstruction, vibrant color, form, texture and decay exist in this piece and have been amplified by a new layer of broken down, assembled pieces of wood, that have been painted and constructed into the piece. This adds a wonderful new element of shadow and an idea of breaking the plane of a conventional canvas and frame. I have continued my obsession with incorporating found and recycled materials and assembled them into what I like to think of as a sculptural painting.

It is beautiful and rugged and fun to look at from multiple angles and I have constructed this frame myself out of an old display easel, sawed up older painting, and an old work shirt from my restaurant years, when I struggled to pay the bills and stay afloat as an artist. Using these personal objects as well as the symbols that pop up in the work is not by accident. It is a recognition of a darker period in my art career when all seemed hopeless. This painting is both a recognition of this period and is also meant to represent a triumph of spirit; shouting that I made it through and am still here creating my art. It is a highly geometrical, personal, colorful and textured piece and is truly an original artwork like no other.

Note: This painting is painted on assembled, reclaimed wood and fabric and comes uniquely, irregularly framed and hang ready.

This painting is signed on the front and includes my Certificate of Authenticity.
