Original artwork description:

Oil on paper 28x28cm (11x11in) 2024

In the series “Losing references” I investigate the importance of cultural references in our society. How do you feel when seeing the most representative personalities of the XX and XXI century deal with an inproper situation? The purpose of the series is to make people think about the relationship we all have with culture and cultural icons, and what could happen if we lose it/them, voluntarily or not.

“Steve at the plice station” is an artwork which I painted from an image I assembled digitally. It shows Steve Jobs during a police line-up. Once again, the popular icon is shown while dealing with an estranging situation. The artwork is painted in two steps: at first I paint a monochrome version, then I add colours on it. The result is a watercolour-like style, which looks in some ways vintage, like the old black-and-white photographs manually coloured.

“Steve at the police station” is a 28x28cm oil on paper artwork, painted using top quality materials.
