We work so hard to make progress in the face of very challenging obstacles, whether you consider new headlines or our own personal and professional lives. Problems and frustrations arise in spite of our best efforts. But even when we can't move forward in a straight line, "stepping stones" can help us to get where we want to go by a less direct route. And that might be just the solution to overcome the obstacle in our path. This abstract began as an oil pastel collage, which was mounted on a birch panel that was then overpainted with oil and cold wax. No hanging hardware needed because a "keyhole" has been routed into the reverse side of the wooden panel.
