Pihao is an old town on the Douro river, Portugal. But once you leave the river bank the streets rise steeply. But you do get some wonderful views of the Douro river. This watercolour painting was completed from an on site sketch showing the lovely old narow streets and courtyards with the acer tree and pink oliander.

Painted using quality permanent, non fade Artist pigments on heavyweight rag paper.
