Original artwork description:

Like many artists and creative people, I have a huge and ever-expanding collection of stationery and art materials which I use all the time for my work.

Throughout my time as an artist this collection has even become the subject of my work, hence this latest piece depicting colourful pieces of stationery sticking out of a blue shirt pocket.

I've painted stationery many times before, including a project in which I painted pens, pencils, rulers, and more, sticking out of actual jacket pockets for a vintage clothes company. One of my biggest influences, the pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, also occasionally painted stationery in his later years too, creating artworks that were about art itself.

I love representing objects in a simple, graphic style, opting for impact rather than realism. The end result here would look great hung framed in, or on the door of a craft room or art studio, or just hung anywhere in the house as an eye-catching work of art.

This is also a new smaller size of painting for me, in standard UK paper size A5, hence the lower price. I plan to create a few of these featuring smaller more detailed objects such as this. It comes unframed on high quality paper, but A5 frames are easy enough to find.

Size -
5.7 inches x 8.2 inches
15 cm x 21 cm
Roughly 1mm thick

The painting will be packaged in a thick envelope with full tracked postage.

My work has been inspired by the classic pop artists like And Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, as well as modern day graphic artists and food packaging.

Materials used:

Posca Paint Pen, Acrylic Paper (Acid Free)
