Original artwork description:

In the UK we only see these flowers at Christmas time, but what a splendid sight they are during the short December days when there are few flowers to be seen. I love painting bright reds, and this plant gave me the opportunity to use all shades of red.
This painting is done on a square canvas board that has a hanging wire on the back.
