Standard - 40 x 40 cm - 2022 - paper and acrylic on canvas

This very tightly framed portrait evokes the norm and conformism in our society. At the top and left of the canvas are work and children, while, mirrored by the white thread, at the bottom and right we see art and disobedience appear.
The young woman's hair blends into the background, as if she were literally disappearing because of the norm, but the hand on the right, raised, begins to tip the scales and gives hope that it is non-conformism who will win in the end.

Papers used: screenshots of old American films in black and white (such as Chaplin's Modern Times), "baby" cards from the game The Liar, reproductions of works of art (Gauguin, Klimt) and representation of Mulan, from Disney, cutting his hair.

The canvas is varnished and equipped with a hanging system.
