I like to work in an intuitive manner without any clear idea of the finished work, instead letting the process direct the finished form of the work. This piece combines influences from modernism as well as mural and folk art, integrating biomorphic and geometric forms to create an optical rhythm across the visual field of the work.
I am interested in the way that the eye moves around a composition and the visual rhythms or flows that are created; for me each piece is like a map to be explored.
Through the relationships between the various elements within the work hints of narrative or representation may emerge.
