Representation of the St Pierre islet located off Anse Volbert, on the island of Praslin, in the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean. Following a trip to this paradisiacal archipelago in the Indian Ocean, the artist collected photos and sketches on site, which he then worked on in oil paint on canvas, in his studio. Turquoise blue comes into its own when paired with the deep gray of the tropical sky. Light and areas of shadow alternate throughout the day in this lush, granite landscape, bordered by white sand beaches.
