Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece rose from the destruction of the Great Fire of London. I have become fascinated by how this symbol of re-birth is slowly losing its significance, as the City of London grows beside it. I wanted to record St. Paul’s in a reflective and romantic way, whilst hinting at the change that is taking place.
Using techniques to sand and scrape away parts of the image I have sought to enhance the feeling of decay and time.
This painting can be supplied with a basic white frame and mount (as seen in the image of it on the wall) at cost if required - enquire for more details.
watercolour, ink, gesso, image transfer
