Vegetables come in all shapes, sizes and colours, making them a great subject for still life. I love the contrast between the reds and oranges and the blue-grey of that big squash.
This piece would naturally look great in a rustic kitchen setting, or perhaps a porch leading to the back garden.
Painted by me on a chilly October morning.
The frame is handmade (also by me). For this piece I chose a wide white wooden moulding that would give the work space to breath, while keeping a calm over all mood.
