Beyond the grassy verge, with its scattering of wild flowers, I gazed across the valley to the distant lake nestling below the barely visible hilltop village of Zahara.
The painting was inspired during a visit to one of my favourite locations in rural Spain. During Springtime, before the sun has had time to scorch the land, an abundance of wild flowers decorates the roadsides, creating a mish-mash of colour against the green and gold backdrop.
It is painted using brush and palette knife on stretched canvas. The canvas edges are painted white and it does not require a frame. A canvas hanger is attached, allowing the painting to hang flush with your wall.

Acrylic paint, varnish, deep canvas
