This still life is done in muted tones, making it unlike the other pieces in the floral series. Although many associate spring with a riot of colors, for me, it’s always something tender and touching. I often buy the flowers for my still lifes at Belgrade markets, which has become a whole ritual in itself. In my view, the flowers merely serve as a pretext for the depiction, but the main goal of the work, of course, is to convey the artist's impression and emotional state.
