The place depicted in the painting "Spring Shadows" is a unique natural pearl of the north-west of Russia. Glukhovka forest Lake is located in the delta of the Kovash River, and the high hill of the island provides a high point of view. It is the island, overgrown with coniferous forest that protects the snow from strong melting in the spring from the north side. Glukhovka is located on the outskirts of the city, and sometimes, like shadows, wild animals appear here. The painting was painted as a result of many years of plein-airs in these places.

Yes, it probably seems that this work is the result of a huge number of sketches. Yes, it's true. But only partly.
In fact, it all started with a dog (fox terier) named Barbos. Yes, it is from him. This place, which now flaunts on a huge canvas, is located, as I often say, by our forest lake. And it's only ten minutes from home on foot. And the dog took me out for a walk here several times a day (in the family it was called "taking the dog out" - well, you know). So, hundreds of hours of walking in any weather and time of the year. Solitude, nature, the purest air, the sound of the sea in the distance – and then dozens of sketches made me a master of depicting this place. It may sound immodest, but to be honest, I really like what I do myself. First of all, I feel great pleasure from what I do and from the place where I live. Glad to share it with you.
