Original artwork description:

I went to Suffolk in April. I made a brief visit to the county many years ago but hadn't been back and couldn't remember much. I thought it would be similar to Norfolk with which I'm well acquainted, but found it to be quite different.
We went on a number of walks and this painting is an impression of the landscape we explored around Woodbridge and Sutton Hoo. I loved the leaning fir trees, the gorse and heath. I could smell the salty air from the tidal estuary and sense the past. Boudica, the Romans, King Raedwald and St Aethelwold, some of the people who's names are known and who have left their imprint one way or another. I couldn't help wondering about all the nameless souls who have worked and passed through that place. 'Spring in Suffolk' is a painting about the mood and feel of a landscape which captivated my imagination.

The painting is an oil on board.

Painting measures 71cms x 36.5cms approx.

The painting is framed and ready to hang. Please note that the frame is old/recycled. I have painted it white and applied a white wax liming finish which has given the frame an off white, greyish colour.
Framed measurement is 76cms x 41cms.

Materials used:

Oil paint
