Original artwork description:

If you are looking for a beautiful work of art to bring joy and optimism to your child's room, home or office, this is it!

The bold, precise brushwork fills the butterflies with vibrant colour and happy organic elements. The scene is carefully composed, showing that a master painter had been at work on her creation. It radiates confidence and an air of freedom. Minekov has captured a fleeting moment of life and beauty in nature, truly making it her own.

The painting Spring, of the comma butterfly, was painted for the book Shropshire Butterflies: A Poetic and Artistic Guide to the Butterflies of Shropshire by Nadia Kingsley.

The book contains 75 poems and 69 images, from sixty-six contributors including Gillian Clarke, National poet of Wales; Katherine Swift, author of The Morville Hours; Paul Evans, radio 4 naturalist and Country Diary columnist for the Guardian; Peter Boardman, entomologist who works for Field Studies Council; Matthew Oates, the butterfly adviser to the National Trust, TV naturalist and author.
