Emma is a beautiful young actress I met one day when I was out and about. After a brief chat she agreed to work with me in creating this portrait. Such a bubbly and energetic person it wasn’t until we set down in a bar and chatted over a drink that I managed to see beyond her beautiful smile, such depth for a you soul! Emma had an audition the following day and she asked if I would like her to read. It was a spoken word poem called “No average black girl” A very deep and emotional moment shared and the foundations for this painting.
