I do not know if I believe in the spirits, but there are a lot of unknowns in the creation of an image. After starting an idea on paper there becomes a time when the drawing starts to talk back to you, giving you directions on where to go and telling you when to stop. Aborigines believed that when they made errors in their creations it was the Gods talking to them, so they never corrected anything. With my work, I found that making an error when drawing a pattern brought things to life. With this in mind, I now encourage myself to make mistakes, For example, sometimes I get bored drawing with a colour so I just change colour for the sake of it. With this attitude, it always makes things exciting and with the help of the spirits on my side, I know that I am in good hands. I do not know what makes an Artist, but I believe there is a greater power guiding me.
