This is an edition of silk screen prints I did from a painting to see if I could capture the powerful brushstrokes and colosr of working like van Gogh.It has about 90hand painted stencils and a tiny candle in the open door to represent the presence of the Holy Spirit. I lived in the Netherlands for several years and it was always a thrill to see his work, but Frans Hals and Pisarro are the men who brought a different mindset to people like Rembrandt and later the Impressionists. The energies of all these artists, including us, is transformative. Thank you.
This is one of the oldest churches in the Southern US, and on the river side it follows the Natchez Trace and is where a slave cemetary exists. During heavy flooding, the bones of the dead are often exposed. You will notice the white people were buried on the other side of the building for added protection.
It is sacred ground, several Mound Builder mounds are here, and it is where two of the most ancient paths in the US meet. The dead are everywhere. Besides the Indians are pioneers, indentured servants (white slaves), African slaves, highway men, soldiers for both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, the famous and infamous.
