Original artwork description:

Ever since the invasion began, I've been praying for Ukraine and for her heroic people, who have fought--and who continue to fight like lions--for their freedom. I hold all of the Ukrainian people in my heart and in my prayers. I pray for their freedom and sovereignty, and I pray that their great sacrifice will be a source of even greater blessing. I pray for an end to their fear and suffering. Someday, the guns will fall silent and the invader will be gone from their land. Someday--soon, I hope!--they will return to their homes and, with the free world's help, they will rebuild. The scars of war will be but a memory, and Ukraine will again be free, knowing this was their "finest hour", in the words of Winston Churchill. This mixed media abstract, with gold leaf accent, is my own personal prayer for a just peace. It has been given a satin varnish for protection and hanging hardware is already installed.

Materials used:

acrylic, oil and cold wax on canvas with gold leaf accent
