Artwork description:

Custom made burnt wood / charcoal sculptures. Each unique piece of Devon grown beech wood is hand chopped and split naturally along it's grain. The wood is then carefully burned on it's surface to create it's black, charcoal appearance, which also strengthens and seals the wood. Finally, the wood is coated in a thin layer of acrylic for protection, and then permanently set on a solid, black, steel base.

All wood has been harvested responsibly from beech trees grown on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, UK.

Each piece is made to order. The height of each sculpture is around 30cm. The base is 12x12cm.

Materials used:

Wood, Metal, Fire
