The Space Between is a large-scale abstract acrylics, sumi-e ink and paint markers on canvas painting. It contrasts an organic and highly detailed background with strong geometric shapes and lines in the foreground. It takes inspiration from the constructivist and Bauhaus form languages and combines it with elements from modern graphic design, especially Japanese illustrative art. The contrasts and order between shapes provides for a spatial experience while observing the painting.
