Original artwork description:

Southwold Beach is a realist oil painting on canvas, 30 x 40 inches (approx 76 x 101cm).
The viewer is looking directly out to sea from the standpoint of the waters edge towards a dramatic breaking wave.
Inspired by walks along the English Suffolk coast, Christopher Witchall continues his preoccupation with the light, movement and colours of the ocean, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.
The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
Southwold Beach is painted on a deep edge canvas, so there is no need for framing and is ready to hang. It is signed on the bottom right and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Materials used:

Oil painting on deep edge canvas. No need for framing.
