On the south cliff of Scarborough there are zig zagging paths that lead you down to the Spa. Trees, casting shadows, overhang the wild garlic and bluebells in the spring. You can glimpse the sea through the fresh, early leaves on the spindly branches. It is an enchanting spot that inspired this little picture.
I have used oil paint, soft pastel and pencils on primed paper. The image is backed with white cartridge and decorative paper. My idea is that the picture can be displayed as it is, propped on a mantlepiece or shelf like a treasured postcard. It would look good framed too, if preferred.
The image measures 7.4cms x 11.3cms approx.
The backing measures 9.4cms x 12.5cms approx.
The painting comes in a cellophane bag.
