In May I went on a sketching trip to a nearby village that has a watermill, the Loddon a small river rises in withy beds and a scrubby tangle of fallen trees and reeds. The Loddon emerges from a dark neglected wood. When I was there the sun burst through the undergrowth illuminating the water and a shrub that glowed orange in the sudden sunlight , it was a glittering scene. I have carried the image in my head and now in July the scene has finally been created in oils. Presented in a mid grey inset frame the inside edge painted white. Titled signed and dated on the reverse. Shipped carefully packed in a box dispatched with a track and trace identity.
