Title: SOMETHING YELLOW, SOMETHING BLUE II
Size: 155 x 220 cm | 61 x 86.6 in
Sides: not painted but with paint from the painting process
Frame: unframed, ships rolled in a tube and needs to be restretched by your local framer*
Signature: front an verso, also signed Certificate of Authenticity
Year: 2023
Medium: acrylic / mixed media on canvas
Varnish: silky finish
Other: This work is one of three that I painted in the same color scheme, the idea comes from a commissioned work and I love the palette so much, that I want to explore it more. During painting the tradition for marriages came to my mind, where the bride should wear something borrowed and something blue. At this old tradition for marriages the borrowed thing is intended to remind the bride that someone is always there for her and standing by her side and the color blue stands for a sense of duty, purity and loyalty. "SOMETHING YELLOW, SOMETHING BLUE" is a modification of this.
*) Shipping large formats rolled is safer and more environmentally friendly than shipping ready-to-hang works. The canvas can be easily re-stretched by a framer at your location, which in most cases is even much cheaper than the increased transport costs for a ready-to-hang painting. Nevertheless I can ship most works also ready to hang, so if you'd like a comparison quote for shipping ready-to-hang please contact me.
