This painting is really just about a delight in the colour blue. I found an old jar or powdered French aquamarine pigment deep in one of my paint cupboards, its beautiful blue just so bright and pure, I decided to use it on a new canvas. The painting hints at forms which I associate with these blues, peacock feathers, cornflowers, sea holly and even those old bottles of ink I stained my fingers with as a child. Really though it is none of these things just a tribute to blue.
Acrylic paint, enamel paint, ink, powdered aquamarine pigment, paint pens,UV varnish, stretched canvas, gesso,
