My strongest influences are natural phenomena and seasonal changes. I don’t refer to them as landscapes, as I my intention is taking a closer look, very intimate look. I am interested in the breeze that moves the cloud, more than the cloud; I prefer to explore the emotion of the color then the reality of perspective. WINTER SOLSTICE marks the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year, and slowly ushers in longer days and shorter nights. Gestural brush work suggests bare trees and grasses; blue and dark strokes hint at ice in streams beginning to break move, creating hope for spring.
